Eddie Kennedy: From the Studio

Eddie Kennedy is one of Ireland’s best loved painters and has been exhibiting at Hillsboro Fine Art for more than 20 years. This exhibition From the Studio presents a selection of the artist’s work from across the decades in celebration of a wonderful partnership and friendship.

First exhibiting at the Independent Artists Exhibition at the Douglas Hyde Gallery in 1982, Eddie Kennedy graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design with a Distinction in Painting in 1983. He was awarded a full scholarship by the University of Cincinnati, where he received a Masters in Fine Art Painting in 1989. Kennedy spent a number of years in New York painting, exhibiting and working alongside established US artists including Ron Gorchov, Nam June Paik and others.  Since returning to Ireland in 1996 with a solo show at Dublin’s Irish Life Exhibition Centre in 1996, Kennedy has exhibited in public and private galleries nationally and internationally and is the recipient of numerous awards and honours. In 2017, he was awarded a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant and was elected as a member of Aosdána.
