Project Description

About

Cecilia Bullo is a bicultural visual artist based in Dublin working primarily in sculpture and installation. She has studied sculpture at IADT, Dublin; Brera Fine Art Academy, Milan; Academy of Fine Art, Athens. In 2009 she received an MFA from the National College of Art & Design (NCAD), Dublin.

Bullo’s work has been exhibited widely in Ireland and internationally. She is currently an artist in residence at Fire Station Artists’ Studios receiving the FSAS Residential Studio Award (2020/2023) and her work is supported by the Arts Council of Ireland and DLR COCO/Creative Ireland (2022).

At the heart of Bullo’s art practice is her interest in magic and ritual as a presence in everyday life. Her work stems from an inquiry into healing mechanisms involving rituals and signifiers in the context of social issues, particularly regarding the cultural challenges faced by the displacement and migration of women.
