Hillsboro Fine Art is delighted to represent the paintings of Dutch artist Marcelle Hanselaar in Ireland

Born in Rotterdam in 1945, Netherlands, Marcelle Hanselaar is currently based in London. Although she studied briefly at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague, Hanselaar is a mostly a self-taught artist. Her work often explores the hidden desires and suppressed impulses of civil society.

Hanselaar’s work has been exhibited at and forms part of the collections of many important public institutions and museums around the world, including the British Museum, London; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Victoria and Albert Museum, London; Whitworth Art Museum, Manchester; Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, England;, Kunstcollectie Gemeente Haaksbergen, Netherlands; University of Cambridge, England; University of Aberystwyth, Wales; University of Arizona, USA; Sakimi Art Museum, Japan; Guangdong Fine Art Museum, China.
